Maybe I didn’t use the function correctly…Īnother method is to use the new Privacy Mask option to completely blackout areas on the videos. The only problem: It does not work for me. As you can see above I draw on my neighbor’s house since I don’t need to know when they get in and out of their house. This allows you to cover the areas where you don’t want to receive alerts. We just need to configure the camera to complete the setup, notably the Motion detection.įirst sensitivity, and a new setting specific to RLC-810A camera: Motion Zones. I tightened the two screws and installation is now complete. You can see a rubber joint around the MicroSD card slot that is meant to protect the card from rain, dust, and humidity. It’s much easier to insert it before installation though. Great! But wait… I have the feeling I may have forgotten something…Īnd sure I did, as we’ll need to insert a MicroSD card to be able to store the recorded videos. I attached it to a bush with some cable ties and PVC tube.
#ONVIF REOLINK INSTALL#
Now that we’ve made sure the camera works, we can install it. Please note the left part of the image is my neighbor’s house, the right side is the way to my house.
#ONVIF REOLINK CODE#
You’ll need to scan the QR code on the camera, set up a name and password, and you’ll be good to go. So I had to find a 12V power adapter and used a 15-meter Ethernet cable to connect it to my router.īefore mounting the camera, I connected it to the power and router to make sure I could add it to Reolink app, and everything works as expected. Reolink RLC-810A Camera installation and setupĪs noted in the first part of the review, the camera does not come with a power adapter and does not support WiFi. I’ll also see if people and vehicle detection lives up to my expectations.
#ONVIF REOLINK HOW TO#
In this review, I’ll write a small guide showing how to use the camera with the Reolink app, the web interface, and check out RTSP and ONVIF support. That should be great to avoid all unnecessary alerts from motion detection I get from my “dumb” IP cameras. I listed the specifications and check out the content of the package of the first security camera I’ve received with artificial intelligence.

With Synology surveillance app you can even select a specific area in which motion detection will trigger recording. Motion detection is something that can be configured on the camera itself or using surveillance software. A number of streams vary between 8 and 12 (more details in further paragraphs). Reolink cameras are popular with this crucial function to be able to have multiple streams simultaneously. But based on the evidence I can find on Reolink, Synology and youtube pages I can say that RLC will be compatible with Synology as well as with ONVIF. I have to say that nor Synology nor the ONVIF compatibility list is updated very often which could be due to the reason there are thousands of different CCTV cameras on the market. And the Reolink RLC-422 is not on the official compatibility list. I’m asking because I have a WansView Q3s camera and though it supports multi streams, it was really hard to make the multi streams work in the Surveillance Station. Is the RLC-422 fully compatible with the Synology Surveillance Station over ONVIF? Most importantly: do the multi-streams and the movement detection work on the Surveillance Station?

I’m thinking about buying a Reolink RLC-422 and I have a question about the camera, that you maybe are able to answer.
